There
is always something going on at either Wash Arts or The Inspiration Café,
our art/café at 243 South Main Street established to showcase our
artists, and to benefit the programming of our center.
Musical Luncheon Series: A series of lunchtime concerts
held at Wash Arts’ Main Hall at 9 West Beau Street runs in the spring
and features classical, jazz, folk and ethnic music.
Celebrity Performing
Arts Night: Popular
and often sold-out, this fund-raising event takes place in the winter
(late Feb/early March) and features the talents of our regional elected
officials and leaders in the community.
Annual Fall Gala: Each year
we plan a breathtaking and artistic event to benefit Wash Arts. In 2007,
we celebrate our Fifth Anniversary and it is sure to be a unique and fun-filled
celebration! Stay tuned for details!
Artists in Residence, Visiting Artists and
Exhibits: An important part of cultural life at Wash Arts
is our visiting artist program. In 2006, we hosted Italian Sculptor, Fabrizio
Orlandini of Lucca, Italy, considered one of the top 50 sculptors in the
world. Part of the City of Washington’s Arts and Heritage Festival,
Orlandini’s residency included demonstrations in marble sculpting,
art talks, an exhibit and an Italian Gala in our grand arts center setting.
We also hold 3-4 Art Exhibits throughout the year, featuring the work
of local and regional artists, as well as Poetry Readings, Open House
Recitals of our students, Plays and much more!
The Inspiration Café:
live entertainment can be found in an intimate acoustic setting nearly
every weekend.
Live Entertainment:
Saturday nights from 8-10 pm, our stage features singer/songwriters, jazz
ensembles, and folk or acoustic rock groups.
“Adult Open Stage”: Try out your best stuff on the First and
Third Fridays of the month! Begins at 7:30 pm.
Community Drumming Circle: Led by Music Therapist, Gina
Iuliucci, on the Second and Fourth Fridays at 7:30 for participants of
all ages and abilities. Relieve stress, improve mood, and have fun!! Proven
wellness benefits!
Open Mic for Teens:
Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm.
Plus so much more! We book poets for readings and combine poetry and music
and/or storytellers for a unique evening of entertainment. For more information
