Cultural Events and Entertainment

There is always something going on at either Wash Arts or The Inspiration Café, our art/café at 243 South Main Street established to showcase our artists, and to benefit the programming of our center.

Musical Luncheon Series: A series of lunchtime concerts held at Wash Arts’ Main Hall at 9 West Beau Street runs in the spring and features classical, jazz, folk and ethnic music.

Celebrity Performing Arts Night: Popular and often sold-out, this fund-raising event takes place in the winter (late Feb/early March) and features the talents of our regional elected officials and leaders in the community.

Annual Fall Gala: Each year we plan a breathtaking and artistic event to benefit Wash Arts. In 2007, we celebrate our Fifth Anniversary and it is sure to be a unique and fun-filled celebration! Stay tuned for details!

Artists in Residence, Visiting Artists and Exhibits: An important part of cultural life at Wash Arts is our visiting artist program. In 2006, we hosted Italian Sculptor, Fabrizio Orlandini of Lucca, Italy, considered one of the top 50 sculptors in the world. Part of the City of Washington’s Arts and Heritage Festival, Orlandini’s residency included demonstrations in marble sculpting, art talks, an exhibit and an Italian Gala in our grand arts center setting. We also hold 3-4 Art Exhibits throughout the year, featuring the work of local and regional artists, as well as Poetry Readings, Open House Recitals of our students, Plays and much more!

The Inspiration Café: live entertainment can be found in an intimate acoustic setting nearly every weekend.

Live Entertainment: Saturday nights from 8-10 pm, our stage features singer/songwriters, jazz ensembles, and folk or acoustic rock groups.
